Differences should never be a reason for anyone to be the target of any kind of rejection. However, for some people, what’s different or strange isn’t always well-received, and they tend to keep their distance from anything or anyone that takes them out of their comfort zone.
When it comes to differences, the kitten in this story knows a lot about it. This is completely absurd to many, including Evgenii Petrov, 29, who decided to become the owner of the white cat with unusual eyes that no one wanted to adopt because of its unique appearance.
Scottish Fold Joseph, as Evgenii has named him, was looking for a home after the owner of his mom refused to keep him. Apparently, finding someone who wanted him wasn’t easy either due to his different eyes, a situation that Evgenii simply doesn’t understand.
This sweet little furball just wanted some love. For the resident of St. Petersburg, Russia, it was inconceivable that the caretaker had trouble finding a home for the kitten, but if others didn’t want him, he was willing to take him in. Curious Joseph faced a lot of rejection before finding his new owner. Joseph’s curious eyes, which caused so much displeasure to some, ended up captivating Evgenii. Now he knows that far from being a medical complication, it’s simply a condition that makes him a unique kitten.
Evgenii fell in love with the cat when he saw the photo online. This feline has a condition called heterochromia, but despite being very rare, it doesn’t pose any health complications.
Scottish Folds are a breed of domestic cat with very particular ears, due to a natural dominant genetic mutation that affects the cartilage throughout the body and causes the ears to fold.
Although these felines are quite unique physically, they are very docile and intelligent, a quality that Evgenii highlights about his beautiful Joseph. The Russian considers him simply “amazing with his precious eyes.” The truth is, this loving owner is absolutely right, as this kitten is all sweetness. It’s unfortunate to know that many people rejected him because of his appearance, but fortunately, he found an equally special and loving friend who will surely give him all the love and great life he deserves.
